Since PAL(tv) is using 25 frames per second (25p/50i [the european powerline frequency is 50hz, back than this was relevant for building hardware, this becomes funny when you think of that the commodore64 was slightly faster in the USA because of their 60hz powerline frequency]) but cinemas are using only 24fps, the PAL version is around 4% faster than the cinema version. (This effect can be called PAL speed-up).
